Great tour in Portugal

Just returned from 3 concerts in and around Lisbon with Bjarke Falgren (violin/viola) and Thomas Vang (Bass).

Amazing concerts and amazing response.

Most musician have tried the feeling “nothing can go wrong”. The music plays itself and no matter what you try out, it becomes something beautiful, something that leads to the next level and it just goes on and on. And the security of “nothing can go wrong” of course inspires you to take chances and try new directions – and that for me is what playing music basically is all about.

I’ve been there before but never for three whole concerts.

The reaction was accordingly - lot’s of joy, cheers and standing ovation at the end.

One third of the audience at the first concert showed up the next day and brought friends and after three concerts, we had offers from four bookers/managers. Will we return ? YES !

Manuel Coelho manager of Malaposta Cultural:

“Jens Lysdal, Bjarke Falgren and Thomas Vang rocked us in a musical night of great gift. With their jazz, folk and blues sounds, transmitting us melodies of great beauty, with an excellent technical quality, and recognized by those listening at Café Teatro of Malaposta. When devotion  is big it always creates great moments and that’s what happened this night - unique musical moments lead by a voice full of power and soul”

Gil do Carmo manager of Speakeasy:

“This is the best music we’ve had at Speakeasy ever”

Audience statements:

”After the first set I was in chock”

“Now I know what playing music is all about”
”Jens asked the audience, introducing a song, if anyone were 100% satisfied with their lives. Sitting there listening to their music I suddenly discovered – I was !”
”My daughter wanted to study the violin, but I said no because I thought it was such a sad instrument. After listening to Bjarke I’ll go home and tell her that she can”
